 Introduce Your Character(s)
« Thread Started on Sept 21, 2007, 5:31pm »

Here, you can introduce your character(s) for roleplaying and give some info about him/her/it/them.

Please note that each member is recommended one character, but is free to create as many as three. Of course, you must choose which one to use at the beginning of each Roleplay. Also note that any character is legal... HOWEVER, they cannot have an ability unless you can explain it. Thus meaning, 'My character can do anything with his fancy magic stick' is out.

*Fields with an asterisk are required.

*NAME: Well duh... he's got to have a name. Or a nickname at the very least. ;P

*RACE: What is your character? (Human, Android, Klingon, Sheep, etc.)

*SEX: Male or female? Or neither.... or... both... ;P

*PERSONALITY: Just a few words of description.

SIDE: Is your character good, evil, or neutral?

ALLIANCE: Is he a member of a team? A leader? A duo? A lone wolf?

ELEMENT: Energy, Light, Shadow, Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Thunder... whatever you can think of, if anything.

*PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Just a short decription of your character's appearance.

*WEAPONS: Any weapons or tools your character uses?

*CLOTHING: Describe your character's clothing or accessories. Shields and other defenses can be listed here as well.

*ABILITIES: A brief description of what your character is capable of. This is important for when others represent your character in their posts... if none, just enter 'N/A' or the like.

*AGE: How old is your character? Feel free to put 'Unknown' or 'Undisclosed' if you like.

DIMENSIONS: Height, weight, etc... for those extremists out there.

OCCUPATION: I don't know, an evil overlord? Hired arms? A pie-obsessed lawyer, perhaps?

LIKES: Things your character likes. Just for a bit extra info... 100% optional.

DISLIKES: Things your character hates. See above.

FEARS: Any fears or phobias your character has. These can count as weaknesses, too.

STRENGTHS: Anything your character excells at particularly.

*WEAKNESS(ES): Every character must have some kind of weakness. This weakness cannot be used against you deliberately by another character, but must exist for the sake of equality.

PICTURE: Got a picture? A sprite? Or is he the same as your custom character? (See Art Battles) A picture is optional, but it's always nice.

*BIOGRAPHY: The general story behind your character; his overall background.

-----------------------------------STATS-----------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE - Stats are only required for Statistic Roleplays. If you only plan to participate in the freelance games, everything between these lines can be left out.

Alright, here's how it works. Your character is granted a certain number of skill points based on a moderator's decision on ability or power restrictions. The usual amount is about 1400, but it can be anywhere from 1200 to 1600 depending on the character. After your character is finalized and granted his or her points, you are free to distribute them as you see fit among the following statistics.

TOTAL SKILL POINTS: Not a stat, but this little field just allows
you to keep track of how many skill points you have total.
AVAILABLE SKILL POINTS: Keeps track of how many skill points you have to use.

Strength - Your character's power in melee-style attacks.
Control - Your character's power in special or unnatural skills.
Energy - Your character's ability in energy attacks, if any exist.
. . . . . . If he or she has none, put 0. It will conserve your points.
Defense - This does not include armor or defensive abilities.
. . . . . . . It includes only your character's capability to
. . . . . . . withstand damage.
Endurance - Also known as hit points. The statistic power of the
. . . . . . . . .type of the attack + the attack power - the defense
. . . . . . . . .of the target = the resulting damage in hit points.
. . . . . . . . .Fairly simple. Be careful to distribute these with your
. . . . . . . . .attack powers.
Special - How many Special Points your character has for special
. . . . . . attacks and energy attacks. Every time you use one of
. . . . . . these types of attacks, they use up your SP. If you run out
. . . . . . entirely, you can no longer use Special or Energy attacks.
Intelligence - In I.Q. points. Please try to match your character, if
. . . . . . . . . .possible... these determine your likelyhood of
. . . . . . . . . .hitting the target.
Speed - Order of attacks are ordered by speed, highest to lowest.

INTELLIGENCE SCALE: When attacking, you roll two 6-sided dice. (A posting feature) An outcome determines whether you hit or miss:

IQ < 50 - Only a roll of seven lands you an attack. (1 out of 6)
IQ > 49 - A roll of 7 or 8 total is a hit. (11 out of 36)
IQ > 64 - A roll of 6, 7, or 8 total is a hit. (4 out of 9)
IQ > 79 - A roll of 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 is a hit. (2 out of 3)
IQ > 99 - A roll of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 is a hit. (5 out of 6)
IQ > 139 - A roll of 4 to 11 is a hit. (8 out of 9)
IQ > 169 - A roll of 4 to 12 is a hit. (10 out of 11)
IQ > 199 - A roll of 3 to 12 is a hit. (35 out of 36)

WEAPON: Your character can have one weapon to use as his regular attack. This weapon has a power of 50, and is used only to give your character an attack that does not consume SP. It cannot be upgraded; If you want a stronger attack, increase your Strength stat.

Note: If you really can't think of any weapon your character uses, just indicate what he or she attacks with. (Fists, teeth, etc.)

ATTACKS: Include Melee, Special, and Energy attacks where aplicable. Aside from leftover skill points, you have 300 Attack Points to use total. This does NOT mean you have 300 for each type of attack.

- Note: The amount of SP each attack consumes is half of the attack power. This also means that when you increase an attack's power with skill points, its SP will also increase.

SPECIAL: Still got skill points left? Attack Points? Slop them all together into one extra you'd like to make your character unique. All special extras must gain moderator approval.

LEVEL: This space is just for keeping track of your level. For information, read below.

EXP POINTS: This space is just for keeping track of how many you have. For information, read below.

And finally... Leveling up;
All characters start on level one. As you defeat opponents, you gain EXP. (Cliched? Damn straight.)

Common Enemies are worth 1 EXP, and are usually fought one on one. If multiple players fight a single common enemy, there will be no EXP Points granted.

Uncommon Enemies are worth 5 EXP, and - while unlikely - may take two people to take down. If two people go against it, they gain 2 EXP each. If three or more, 1 each.

Other Players are worth 10 EXP. These are always one on one fights. Now, you really shouldn't go about in roleplays TRYING to attack your teammates, but there are some occassions where you will be pit against other players.

Bosses or very powerful enemies are worth 24 EXP. These usually take a couple of players to take down, unless a player has a particularly high level. If multiple people fight it, split the EXP equally among them.

Final Bosses - the ones that end roleplays - are worth 50 EXP. These almost always take multiple players. Two fighters get 25 each, 3 get 16 each, 4 get 12 each, 5 get 10 each, 6 or more get 5 each.

Note: Some particularly badass final enemies may be worth up to 100.

On level 1, you must gain 12 EXP to reach level 2. 14 EXP to level 3, 16 to level 4, 18 to level 5, and so on. Every time you increase a level - obviously - your EXP is reset to 0. However, if you have extra EXP left over from your last raise, it is added again. For example, if someone on level 2 with 8 EXP fights another member and is awarded 10, the first 8 are added into 16 - he grows to level 3 - and the remaining 2 are then added after. He would now be on level 3, with 2 EXP.

Below is a small chart of checks showing the EXP required to level up from these levels.
1 = 12 EXP
5 = 20 EXP
10 = 30 EXP
15 = 40 EXP
20 = 50 EXP
25 = 60 EXP
30 = 70 EXP
40 = 90 EXP
50 = 110 EXP
60 = 130 EXP
70 = 150 EXP
80 = 170 EXP
90 = 190 EXP
100 = 210 EXP

Every time you increase a level, you gain 100 Skill Points to use as you wish. Stats may be adjusted accordingly each time you level up - however, you cannot take skill points OFF of a previously assigned stat without moderator approval.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

OTHER NOTES: Anything else you'd like to share about your character.

Feel free to add any other categories if you feel them necessary. Remember, you don't have to include anything without an asterisk (*) if you don't feel obligated to.

The points system is instated only to provide equality without totally restricting the creativity of a character. The system may very well change over time.

Also note that nothing the moderators decide is totally absolute. You are free to voice your opinion on their decisions if you like.

Not bad. Certainly not worse than Disma's. I can't approve him given that I have little to no RP experience - that's Mickey's job. However, you may want to touch up on the grammar and conventions... otherwise, it can be a bit hard to understand his being ooted from Reikana. You should probably avoid including other characters - whether yours or someone else's - in your profiles. The author may not approve of the connection, it can interfere with the initial storyline of actual roleplays... and in this case, the character may not be around forever. I deleted mine, given that I never really cared for roleplays and we now have another example. You can still find me in the Art Battles, though. ^^

Sorry for the spelling error's my computer crashed before my spell check finished....

It's not just spelling, but no worries. I can take care of it for you, if you like. If not it's up to Mickey to approve him or not.
